Irish Film Festival

Bookings are open for the Irish Film Festival, now in its 10th year. This year’s festival showcases a total of 16 films and documentaries from Ireland, including 1 world premiere and 12 Australian premieres. This year's program features an eclectic mix of dramas, thought-provoking documentaries, horrors and a family-friendly animation.

Screenings will be from 24th – 27th October at Cinema Nova in Carlton. The opening night film is “That They May Face the Rising Sun.” Adapted from the John McGahern novel, the film “captures the essence of nature, humanity and the rhythms of life in a rural Irish community in the 1980s.” Our friends

at Melbourne Comhaltas will be playing at the opening night of the Festival.

If you’re not able to make it to the Festival in person, you can still view the films online from 17th October – 3rd November.

For more information and for bookings, visit the Festival website at irishfilmfestival.com.au.
